Overview

We completed asbestos surveys at five fire stations for Pier Contractors on behalf of a Local Authority.

Approach

We received the work orders for each station separately. Our Contract Manager liaised with the Station’s manager to schedule work around peak times; this included some surveys being completed on evenings and weekends. For all five stations we completed the surveys within 5 working days of receiving the work order.

Refurbishment surveys were undertaken in the plant rooms for all stations as refurbishment work was scheduled to the boiler plant. We completed all surveys on time, providing reports within 3 working days of the survey completion. This allowed the refurbishment contractors to commence work as scheduled.

We also conducted air monitoring during removal and works being undertaken, and completed surveys after work completion, with updated reports provided to the Station. On this contract, our team completed additional H&S training, including site assessments and a Permit to Work before work commenced. The contract was completed within budget and within the agreed timescales.
